Hi everyone! In Physics today, we started off with the daily warm-up which consisted of a drawing a geocentric solar system and the heliocentric solar system. After that, Dawn talked about how we are going to collaborate with the third grade class in Explorer. Today we picked a certain planet to read about with a partner, and that is what we are going to read with our third grade science buddies on Thursday. We are also going to do a little project with them, which consists of making solar systems out of paper plates and markers. That is all we did today!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. In class today, we started off with the warm-up, which consisted on answering questions about the section in the reading packet of Copernicus. Then we did a worksheet on the difference between revolve and rotate. Afterwards we took notes on a quick snippet of the show the "Cosmos". That is all we did today in class! Bye guys!
Sincerely, Sophia E. Collins Hi everyone! Sorry for not posting yesterday, it was just that the website was down. Yesterday in class, we started with the warmup, which consisted of answering three questions about Aristotle's and Newton's Laws. After that we did a walk and talk about the three questions. When we came back, we continued our stop motion animation (which was due at the end of the class). That's everything for yesterday! Have a good three-day weekend!
Sincerely, Sophia Collins Due Assignments: 1) 3.1-3.4 in reading packet (3.5 EXTRA CREDIT). Hi everyone! In class today we started off with the daily warmup, which consisted of giving examples of natural motion and violent motion, and also giving the differences of Aristotle's laws v.s. Newton's laws. Afterwards, we went a little more in depth on Aristotle's laws, and truly understanding the meaning of natural and violent motion. Then, we had time to finish our word wall (which is due tomorrow). Once you were done with that, you could do the homework for tonight, which was Section 3.4 in the reading packet, or go straight into your stop motion animation that we brainstormed yesterday. The only thing that Dawn added was that we have to put notecards (words as she put it) in our animation to show Newton's first law of motion in action. That is all we did today! Please ask me if you have any further questions.
Sincerely, Sophia Collins. Due Assignments: 1) Word Wall Poster. 2) Section 3.4 in Reading Packet (Don't for to annotate and highlight!) Hi everyone! In Physic today, we started off with the warm-up, which consisted of a worksheet that talked about theories that cannot be proven physically. Image of Warm-Up: After that we did section 13.7, which helped us understand our warm-up a little bit more. Section 13.7: Then we took notes on Newton's first law of motion through a video that we watched on youtube. To add on to that, we learned how to use stop animation, so we can create our own tomorrow to explain Newton's first law. Notes for Newton's First Law: For homework tonight, Dawn assigned us 3.3 from the reading packet we started yesterday. Section 3.3: That's everything! If you have any further questions, please email me!
Sincerely, Sophia Collins Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend and day back to school. In physics today, we started off with the daily warmup, which consisted of a worksheet that had to do with debating wether the earth was round or not. Also we had new "friends" in class today to do the new friend worksheet with. After that we listened to the rest of the "Hidden Figures" presentations. Then, we finished our words for the word wall. We will also have time to finish it in class tomorrow, but I suggest that you finish it tonight at home. To go off that, for homework tonight we have the intro, 3.1, and 3.2 in a new reading packet. If you do not already know, when you are reading you should highlight key topics, ask questions, and make comments in the margins (at least four on each page, and don't forget to answer the concept question). Image of tonight's homework: Intro: Section 3.1: Section 3.1 & 3.2: That is everything we did in Physics today. Email me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Sophia Collins |
Sophia E. CollinsHi everyone! I will be the new class notetaker for Dawn's physics class. If you need more clarification on anything I post, please go to the contact page and email me. Thank you! Archives
